His unique perfume creations, which never cease to surprise and reveal new facets of the art of olfaction, have earned him numerous awards and the status of one of the best "noses". After several creations for the most prestigious perfume manufacturers such as Burberry, Dior and Juliette has a gun, he began selling his eau de parfums under his own name with his brand Maison Francis Kurkdjian. But how did Francis Kurkdjian become one of the most sought-after perfumers?
It seems as if he was born into it, as he decided to become a perfumer at the age of 15. Five years later, he began his training in Versaille and the start of a great career.
Originally from Armenia, the perfumer found his destiny in perfumery and put down roots in the capital of perfume: Paris. His training at the Institut Superiéur International du Parfum and his collaboration with the world's largest perfume houses made him world-famous early on. Thanks to his prestigious creations such as "Le Male" for Jean Paul Gaultier and "for her" for Narciso Rodriguez, his name has become very well known in the perfume scene.
Francis Kurkdjian even became so well known that in 2001 he was awarded the "François Coty" prize for his life's work, probably the highest honour that can be bestowed on a perfumer.
