He is a pioneer - in two ways. Not only the first and only perfumer from Denmark, but also the one who revolutionises the perfume world with completely new perfume techniques. The fragrances of Zarkoperfume all stem from his experimentation with molecular fragrances.
Before his breakthrough with Zarkoperfume, Pavlov worked in the fashion industry. After studying perfumery for five years, he turned his dream into reality. The synthetically produced fragrances mimic the Scandinavian attitude to life. With his Nordic-influenced fragrances, Pavlov made the niche of molecular perfumery known. Produced in Denmark, all its fragrances are filled and packaged by hand. The outer packaging is designed in a very minimalist way, as the focus is more on sustainability and resource conservation – a matt white cardboard box made from recycled cardboard tubes. The ingredients are also in line with what is now called Clean Beauty. Only a few ingredients and synthetically produced ones, a responsible approach to nature and respect for animal welfare. The scent molecules in his eau de parfums react to their environment (air pressure and the earth's atmosphere) and change their colour and structure according to the weather. To do this, Zarko Ahlmann Pavlov had to break the surface tension of water so that it floats above rather than below the oil. This special molecular structure is what makes the perfumes sensitive to their environment and the aura of the person wearing it. His personal masterpiece is the molecular fragrance MOLéCULE 234 38, which contains only a fragrance molecule, alcohol and water. It took him six years to develop this work of art, but it was worth it:
Completely devoid of essential fragrance oils, a large molecule chained to several smaller ones forms the base of the perfume. This molecule is very similar in structure to that of the skin and the environment. Because of this, our body exerts an influence on the development of the fragrance: Our mood or condition, all this affects the variations of scent that the perfume can take on. This is where the Nordic aspects of Scandinavia meet the warmth of a pink sunset: a warm spring breeze lingers in the air, dark trees cast protective shadows and a fresh sea breeze disperses the salt of Denmark's coast. The world's first perfume that makes scents visible through specific scent molecules.
